A few days later than expected (lot of stuff happening right now on my side), here as promised a recounting of my experience at Corvus Belli<\/a><\/em>‘s Interplanetario<\/strong> 2025, happening on their homeland of Vigo, in Spain. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Avec un peu de retard (il s’en passe des choses en ce moment !), voici comme promis un petit retour sur la grande messe annuelle de Corvus Belli<\/em><\/a> dans leurs terres natales: l’Interplanetario<\/strong> en direct de Vigo, en Espagne.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

For those not familiar with the event, it is usually the World Championship of Infinity<\/strong>, (previously) Aristeia!<\/strong>, and now even Warcrow<\/strong>. It’s also the opportunity to discover and test the latest games and news from the company, and to meet and exchange with the community in meat space, in a very friendly and unformal way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pour celleux qui ne conna\u00eetraient pas l’\u00e9v\u00e9nement, il s’agit des championnats du monde d’Infinity<\/strong>, (auparavant) d’Aristeia!<\/strong> et, d\u00e9sormais, de Warcrow<\/strong> \u00e9galement. C’est aussi le moment de d\u00e9couvrir et tester les nouveaut\u00e9s \u00e0 venir, ainsi que pour la communaut\u00e9 de se voir physiquement et \u00e9changer dans la bonne humeur avec les concepteurs des divers jeux de l’entreprise.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Until last year, it was also hosting the Corvus Belli equivalent of “Golden Demon<\/em>” (but for their own minis). But the painting contest had now a cash prize for each gold and the Best of Show in its “Master” category, 2.500\u20ac for each, resulting in a 15.000\u20ac total cash-prize, on top of the usual rewards and gifts for each other medals and category.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Avant l’an dernier, c’\u00e9tait l’occasion pour les peintres de concourir \u00e0 l’\u00e9quivalent local du “Golden Demon<\/em>“, d\u00e9di\u00e9 aux figurines de Corvus Belli. Mais nouveaut\u00e9 pour cette ann\u00e9e, la cat\u00e9gorie “Masters” b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiait d’un Cash Prize, avec pas moins de 2.500\u20ac par m\u00e9daille d’or et pour le Best of Show, cumulant ainsi 15.000\u20ac en plus des lots pour l’enti\u00e8ret\u00e9 du concours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

This year, considering how invested into and fond of the game I am, I went to the event to take part into the first International Warcrow Tournament, their new medfan skirmish game released last year. Schedule was simple: 5 games, chill mood, accross the 3 days of the event, while others where taking part into the Infinity Tournament (preventing players to be able to compete in both).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cette ann\u00e9e, vu mon investissement et l’engouement suscit\u00e9 par le jeu depuis sa sortie l’an dernier, j’y allais surtout pour participer au premier tournoi international d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 Warcrow, leur jeu d’escarmouche fantastique. Au programme : 5 rondes, \u00e0 la cool, r\u00e9parties sur 3 jours, en parall\u00e8le du tournoi Infinity (on ne peut donc pas cumuler les inscriptions \u00e0 l’un ou \u00e0 l’autre).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

With also thirty attendants from many countries (Spain, Swiss, Poland, US, Australia, etc<\/em>) the fight was very relaxed and I don’t regret my games, the registration alone being rewarding between the welcome pack and the prizes (a normal move from Corvus Belli games tournaments), but also very far from the usual tense mood you can come accross in such high stakes wargame tournaments from other licences. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Avec plus d’une vingtaine d’autres personnes de tous les horizons (Espagne, Suisse, Pologne, US, Australie, etc<\/em>) la lutte fut tr\u00e8s amicale et je ne regrette pas d’avoir particip\u00e9e au tournoi, l’inscription valant pleinement son pesant d’or, comme d’ordinaire avec les comp\u00e9titions de jeux Corvus Belli, mais surtout loin de l’ambiance maussade et tendue que j’ai pu observer sur d’autres \u00e9v\u00e9nements de ce calibre.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Being an event entirely dedicated to Corvus Belli games, it’s always a good day to put your best cosplay on, even if it’s a very marginal thing to for attendants yet. More often than not, it’s mostly the employees of the company that do so.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Etant un \u00e9v\u00e9nement enti\u00e8rement d\u00e9di\u00e9 aux jeux de l’univers Corvus Belli, c’est l’occasion pour certain\u00b7e\u00b7s de sortir leur plus beau cosplay, m\u00eame si cela reste tr\u00e8s marginal parmi les participant\u00b7e\u00b7s, \u00e9manant le plus souvent de l’initiative d’employ\u00e9s de l’entreprise.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Being very recently promoted Warcor<\/em> (kind of Brand Ambassador within the game community), it was also my first event as such, being able to meet fellow Warcors from accross the World and exchange with them, amongst many other surprises (including a box full of gifts as a present for my community engagement, including patches, exclusive miniatures… and the box itself, acting as a nice magnetized transport box for a whole army!).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ayant \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 promue Warcor<\/em> (un genre d’ambassadrice communautaire de la marque) r\u00e9cemment, ce fut aussi mon premier \u00e9v\u00e9nement en tant que telle, me permettant de rencontrer mes comparses de par le monde et d’\u00e9changer avec elleux (en plus d’autres surprises… dont notamment une boite bien fournie de moults cadeaux de qualit\u00e9, allant de figurines \u00e0 des patchs en tissus, en passant par la boite elle-m\u00eame qui fait office de transport magn\u00e9tique pour figurines).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

But these weren’t the only activities possible at the venue: there was also the Octobar, where you could buy in advance the upcoming releases (like the new Starter Box for Warcrow), participate into an ARG (Alternate Reality Game<\/em>), mystery quizz, bingo, and even coloring stuff. Despite the good feedback from the attendants of said new tournament, I’m a bit sad they turned the Speed Painting and “free games” area into a new competition requering registration ahead of coming to the event. Due to that, it prevents the simple visitors (convention is free and open to everyone) to get busy and find something to do between 2 rounds of demo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

En termes d’autres activit\u00e9s sur place, il y avait aussi le Octobar, o\u00f9 l’on pouvait acheter en avant-premi\u00e8re les exclusivit\u00e9s \u00e0 para\u00eetre pour cette rentr\u00e9e (tel que le nouveau Starter pour Warcrow), mais aussi un ARG (Alternate Reality Game<\/em>), un quizz myst\u00e8re, du bingo, et du coloriage. M\u00eame si les participants \u00e0 ce “troisi\u00e8me” tournoi m’en ont dit beaucoup de bien, je regrette un peu que le Speed Painting et la zone de “libre-jeu” (avec des jeux \u00e0 disposition) soient devenus un tournoi \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re sur inscriptions pr\u00e9alables, emp\u00eachant le tout-venant (la convention \u00e9tant gratuite et ouverte \u00e0 tou\u00b7te\u00b7s) de s’occuper entre 2 d\u00e9mos.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Because on top of Warcrow, Hexadome Tactics<\/a><\/em> (videogame’s adaptation of Aristeia!) and Acheron’s Fall<\/em> available as demo, it was also the grand reveal of two new boardgames: Hexadome Legends<\/strong> (second edition of Aristeia!, for 2026) and REM Racers<\/strong> (in an abridged version, for late 2025).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Car en effet, en plus de Warcrow, Hexadome Tactics<\/a><\/em> (le jeu vid\u00e9o adapt\u00e9 d’Aristeia!) et Acheron’s Fall<\/em> en d\u00e9mo, cette ann\u00e9e \u00e9tait l’occasion pour Corvus Belli de d\u00e9voiler leurs deux prochains jeux de plateau \u00e0 venir pour 2025 et 2026: Hexadome Legends<\/strong> (la V2 d’Aristeia!) et REM Racers<\/strong> en version Jeu-ap\u00e9ro.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

About Hexadome Legends, first edition’s players won’t be lost, as the game is mostly a graphical update, with some gameplay Quality of Life changes brought by V (Lead Designer) thanks to his past work on Warcrow. For REM Racers tho, it is a card adaptation of the previous boardgame version, for quicker games at a cheaper price, perfect to occupy 10-15min (or even more) between friends or family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pour Hexadome Legends, les connaisseurs de la V1 du jeu seront en terrain conquis: il s’agit surtout d’une refonte graphique, qui b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie c\u00f4t\u00e9 gameplay des ann\u00e9es de travail que V (le principal cr\u00e9ateur du jeu) a pass\u00e9 sur Warcrow avant cela. Pour le mini-jeu REM Racers, il s’agit d’une adaptation du jeu de plateau en format r\u00e9duit et carte uniquement, tr\u00e8s fun et \u00e0 petit prix, parfait pour s’occuper 10-15min entre deux verres ou en famille.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

To finish that very lenghty weekend, before heading back home with a 18 hours drive, Corvus Belli organized a tour of their factory and offices. Always a nice thing to be able to delve into the ordinary day of a miniatures company (even more when they let you roam freely their warehouse with the only words “everything at -30%”…).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pour finir ce tr\u00e8s long weekend, et avant de rempiler pour 18 heures de route afin de rentrer \u00e0 la maison, Corvus Belli a ouvert ses locaux pour une visite d’usine et pr\u00e9sentation de leur fonctionnement interne. Une initiative qui fait toujours plaisir \u00e0 voir (en plus de permettre de se fournir en figurines \u00e0 vil prix dans l’entrep\u00f4t en fin de visite via l’option “achat sur place”).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the end, it’s a very great event to attend at least once in your life, specially if you’re a fan of Corvus Belli’s games and universes. I hope to see you there next year!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bref, c’est un \u00e9v\u00e9nement \u00e0 faire au moins une fois dans sa vie si vous \u00eates fans des univers Corvus Belli, en plus d’\u00eatre tr\u00e8s abordable et convivial. A l’ann\u00e9e prochaine j’esp\u00e8re !<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
