Up here is the invitation card I made for the Ol’ Yul Can Eat<\/strong> event. Supposedly, every guests were gathered by the Butler-thingy of Ol’ Yul, in order to take part in the challenge of satisfying his impossible appetite. The text blends together French and English, to accomodate all guests, but to also serve as a reminder about how Cooking is an important part of French culture. Here’s a translation of the card:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Voici le carton d’invitation que j’avais r\u00e9alis\u00e9 pour l’\u00e9v\u00e9nement Ol’ Yul Can Eat<\/strong>. Suppos\u00e9ment, tou\u00b7te\u00b7s les invit\u00e9\u00b7e\u00b7s \u00e9taient r\u00e9uni\u00b7e\u00b7s par le majordome du Vieux Yul, en vue de les faire s’affronter lors d’un challenge visant \u00e0 satisfaire la faim insatiable de ce dernier. Le texte m\u00e9lange fran\u00e7ais et anglais, pour \u00eatre compr\u00e9hensible par le plus grand nombre, mais aussi afin de rappeler l’importance de la Cuisine dans la culture fran\u00e7aise. Funfact is that the card was handcrafted! Indeed, it was made during Hammertime 2024<\/strong>, while I was working at the Alcyon Studio<\/strong><\/a>‘s booth (the team behind the French Translation of Forbidden Psalm<\/strong>). I often have sparks of creativity hitting anywhere anytime and I have always my notebook and a couple of parchment papers with me to note them down, so while I was at the con, meeting and speaking with so many creators, artists and game designers helped me to finalize the concept and idea behind the whole event and why it would start narratively.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

D’ailleurs, ce carton a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 \u00e0 la main ! En effet, je l’ai produit durant le Hammertime 2024<\/strong>, pendant que j’assistais sur le stand d’Alcyon Studio<\/a><\/strong> (l’\u00e9quipe derri\u00e8re la traduction de Forbidden Psalm<\/strong>). J’ai souvent des \u00e9lans de cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 arrivant \u00e0 n’importe quel moment, pour cela je suis donc toujours munie de mon notebook, afin de les coucher sur papier. Ainsi durant la convention, \u00eatre entour\u00e9e et \u00e9changer avec autant de cr\u00e9ateurs et d’artistes m’a inspir\u00e9e \u00e0 finaliser le concept derri\u00e8re l’\u00e9v\u00e9nement et comment le faire d\u00e9marrer narrativement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I had very much fun practicing typographic work of art, even if it’s very simple, so much that I have recently once again tried the exercice for another \u00c6ternopian project I will show you off in a near future. In the meantime, enjoy your stay in \u00c6ternopia and be careful of what you eat!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

J’ai eu beaucoup de plaisir \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser cet exercice de calligraphie, bien que le r\u00e9sultat reste simpliste. Tellement que j’ai r\u00e9cemment renouvel\u00e9 l’exp\u00e9rience pour un autre projet li\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00c6ternopia, dont je vous parlerais dans un futur proche.
