Lost. Strange. Unsettling. This is but a few of the adjectives able to translate \u00c6ternopiA into words, lost planet from the already mysterious Agnostus Sektor. But despite all these, life is thriving on it.

Coexisting more or less in peace (or just loving to fight each other anytime), numerous civilizations shape the planet’s particular ecosystem: Grorks, Skrats, Humans, or even Gnoblins, all have something to bring to the table in the middle of this weird mix of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to geography and environment, the planet is divided in multiple regions. But due to its synchronous rotation with its star, each region has a very specific atmosphere. Due to that, South Pole (always exposed to the sun) suffers an eternal day, dry and hot ; while North Pole, aimed at the complete opposite side, is forever clad in darkness, surrounded by an harsh environment, yet enough stable for it to be the home of the World Capital (only recognized as such by the city itself): \u00c6terno-Prime. Between these two places, multiple landscapes will be experienced by the lone traveller: from toxic wastelands of the Fields of Verdaine to the fetid rotten swamps surrounding the fishing settlement of Rodpunburg, there is always something to see if you manage to get by the equatorial tempest that is permanently and completely separating each side of the planet… <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Perdue. Etrange. Malsaine. Voici certains des qualificatifs qui pourraient d\u00e9crire \u00c6ternopiA, plan\u00e8te perdue du d\u00e9j\u00e0 tr\u00e8s myst\u00e9rieux Sekteur Agnostus. Mais malgr\u00e9 tous ses d\u00e9fauts, la vie y fourmille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coexistant plus ou moins pacifiquement, ou se battant juste entre eux \u00e0 la moindre occasion, les nombreux peuples qui jalonnent la plan\u00e8te forment un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me particulier: Grorks, Skrats, Humains ou encore Gnoblins, tous ont quelque chose \u00e0 apporter dans ce bouillon de culture h\u00e9t\u00e9roclite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u00f4t\u00e9 g\u00e9ographie, la plan\u00e8te est divis\u00e9e en plusieurs r\u00e9gions. Mais du fait de la rotation synchrone avec son \u00e9toile, les dites r\u00e9gions poss\u00e8dent une atmosph\u00e8re tr\u00e8s… particuli\u00e8re. Ainsi le p\u00f4le toujours expos\u00e9 \u00e0 son \u00e9toile subit un jour \u00e9ternel, aride et sec ; tandis qu’au p\u00f4le oppos\u00e9 c’est la nuit \u00e9ternelle qui r\u00e8gne et des conditions rudes, bien que suffisamment stables pour qu’y figure la Capitale Plan\u00e9taire, dont l’autorit\u00e9 n’est reconnue (et connue) que d’elle-m\u00eame: \u00c6terno-Prime. Entre-deux, des paysages vari\u00e9s s’offrent au voyageur \u00e9gar\u00e9: des champs de terre toxique et cendreuse des Plaines de Verdaine aux luxuriant mar\u00e9cages f\u00e9tides qui entourent le village de Cale-en-Bourg, il y a de quoi faire pour peu cependant que vous trouviez le moyen de passer l’immense temp\u00eate permanente \u00e9quatoriale qui s\u00e9pare les deux h\u00e9misph\u00e8res…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

And… this is where I stop for today regarding storytime, to speak for now about the project’s humble beginnings. Back at summer 2023, I had the idea to merge all my collection of minis (mainly from Games Workshop) into a single project. One day I might tell you of the previous kind of experiments I’ve done in a similar fashion, but none was the size or scope aimed at with \u00e6ternopia.

And this is probably due to me discovering games like Forbidden Psalm and delving more and more into agnostic miniatures games that, where I would before restrain myself to a single and already existing universe, I realized that this is but a mental creative stop I just put onto me unwillingly. As such, freed from that, I now cannot wait to show you more about what has sprun from that since, from that slow but neverending deep dive into the Grimdark universe, where miniatures aren’t just a gaming tool anymore but a form of expressing art in itself.

Et c’est ici que nous nous arr\u00eaterons c\u00f4t\u00e9 histoire pour aujourd’hui afin d’aborder maintenant la gen\u00e8se du projet. C’est en effet lors de l’\u00e9t\u00e9 2023 que m’est venue \u00e0 l’id\u00e9e d’unifier toute ma collection de figurines (principalement Games Workshop) sous un jour nouveau. Un jour je vous parlerai peut-\u00eatre des pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes tentatives du genre qui ont germ\u00e9 dans mon esprit, mais jusqu’ici aucune n’atteignait le scope ou le m\u00e9lange des genres d’\u00e6ternopia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et c’est probablement du fait de ma d\u00e9couverte et de ma plong\u00e9e de plus en plus profonde au sein des jeux agnostiques, Forbidden Psalm en t\u00eate. L\u00e0 o\u00f9 avant je cherchais \u00e0 m’inscrire dans un univers donn\u00e9, d\u00e9sormais on m’avait vendu comme \u00e9vidence que cette contrainte cr\u00e9ative n’\u00e9tait que fictionnelle, une barri\u00e8re mentale que l’ont peut abolir. Et ainsi, avec certaines auto-censures imaginatives en moins, je n’ai que h\u00e2te de vous montrer les travaux qui d\u00e9coulent de cette r\u00e9flexion progressive mais constante au sein de la mouvance Grimdark qui a cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 se r\u00e9approprier les figurines non pas comme un outil de consommation ludique mais comme un medium artistique \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
